I think reducing smoke inside the vehicle is a great idea and it seems like this air duct system would be more controlled than a mere cracked window. This has the potential to reduce litter; however, the concerning aspect of this is the “butt catcher” accessibility. People don’t like to add more steps to their routine, especially if it requires some inconvienience. Also, it might be easy to forget about a tucked away catcher that you need to empty ever so often. Overall, there is a good market for this.
I’ve thought about this idea a bit more and while I like the idea, it is actually kind of difficult to reach your hand to the area this proposed idea would exist in. Any potential modifications?
PTChargers – Thanks for taking an interest in my little site. You raise a fair point. I have to remember that people might be confused by the “2 o’clock” reference in the idea post. I used that position because my best guess says this would be a European product if ever it were adopted. But the easiest solution is to just put the vented ashtray on both sides.

I don’t think smokers or car companies care enough for this to make money.
